Pakistan’s financial sector remain stable, sound: SBP report

KARACHI: The financial sector of Pakistan remains in a sound and stable state at the end of year 2016, said annual Financial Stability Review (FSR) issued by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Friday.

ISLAMABAD: The government on Friday appointed Tariq Bajwa, a former civil servant, as the governor of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for a period of three years.

FBR chairman granted performance allowance

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has granted performance allowance (equivalent to 100 percent basic pay) to its chairman Tariq Mahmood Pasha, a BS-22, officer of Inland Revenue Service.

ISLAMABAD: The number of companies registered with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) during the fiscal year 2016-2017 was 8,286, recording an impressive growth of 34 per cent compared to 2015-16. The total number of registered companies now stands at 81,493.
