NRO beneficiary tax officials not to be promoted: FBR

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday said that any official who is beneficiary of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) 2007 will not be promoted.
In a notification issued, the FBR directed the tax offices to provide combined seniority list (sales tax and income tax) of Data Entry Operators (DEOs) along with vacancy position of Management Information System (MIS) Officer (BS-16) against promotion quota.
The FBR said that in order to consider the promotion case of DEOs (BS-12) to the post of MIS Officer (BS-16) a meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) is expected to be held shortly.
The FBR directed the tax offices to compete their performance evaluation reports (PERs) for the last five years up to December 30, 2016 and same may be furnished to the board at an early date.
Besides following information/documents may also be furnished to the FBR in respect of the concerned DEOs:
— Certificate to the effect that no disciplinary / criminal case is pending against the official and that he is not the beneficiary of NRO, 2007.
— Details of disciplinary proceedings in progress/pending, if any.
— Details of penalties imposed upon the official, if any, during last five years.
