Payment first to file declarations for foreign, domestic amnesties

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has said that making payment is must before filing declaration for undisclosed assets under foreign and domestic amnesties.
The FBR on Monday updated frequently asked questions (FAQs) for tax amnesty scheme and responded regarding submitting online declaration form before making payment. “No. You will have to make payment first and then attach to the respective form at FBR portal, before submitting amnesty declaration,” the FBR said.
It said that for filing amnesty declaration one has to get registered with the FBR’s online portal. If a person is already registered with the FBR then he is not required to register again.
To a question about filing declaration for non-customs paid vehicle under the voluntary declaration of domestic assets, Ordinance 2018, the FBR said that the ordinance covers undisclosed/concealed assets and it is not for non-customs paid vehicle.
The FBR clarified that a company cannot avail amnesty of foreign assets. It said that it was available to individuals only. However, companies and association of persons can avail amnesty for undisclosed income and domestic assets.
