PTBA decides to support FBR’s return filing awareness campaign


KARACHI: Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) has decided to help the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in its ongoing awareness campaign regarding filing of returns.
Abdul Qadir Memon, President, PTBA in a meeting with Ms. Nausheen Javaid Amjad, Member FATE, FBR held on Thursday agreed to join hand with the revenue body for creating awareness regarding filing of tax returns and its benefits.
PTBA president also apprised the Member regarding the activities of the association planned for next two years which included: establishment of PTBA Academy of Taxation; making effort for promulgation of law regarding taxpayers bill of Rights; publication of research papers on tax and corporate laws; and organizing seminars on various tax related and important topics in collaboration with FBR etc.
Member FATE was accompanied by Ms. Seema Shakil, Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) Karachi and Secretary FATE.
The Member briefed about the vision of the FBR to reach each and every potential taxpayer and provide service at his door.
She appreciated the efforts of PTBA for the promotion of tax culture and broadening of tax base.
She lauded the future activities of PTBA and also reiterated FBR’s full support.
At the meeting the contents of proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were also agreed between PTBA and FBR which shall be pen down during the meeting of PTBA officials and FBR team in the next month at Islamabad.
Abdul Qadir Memon was assisted by his team comprising Muhammad Zubair, General Secretary, Muhammad Muneeb, Senior Vice President and Muhammad Aleem, Treasurer.
