KARACHI: The Sindh government has fixed minimum rates of wages at Rs16,200 per month and Rs625 per day for unskilled worker employed by industrial and commercial undertakings in the province.
The similar minimum wages have also been notified for women and juvenile workers.
A notification issued by Labour & Human Resources Department, Sindh government, said that the Sindh Minimum Wages Board had recommended to the government the minimum rates of wages for the adult and juvenile workers employed in the industrial / commercial establishments in the province of Sindh.
“The board, having no objections and suggestion received in pursuance of its notification dated July 09, 2018, has submitted its recommendations for fixing the minimum rates of wages of unskilled adult and juvenile workers employed in all industrial and commercial undertakings in Sindh, under letter dated August 20, 2018 issuing notification under Section 6 of Sindh Minimum Wages Act, 2015,” it said, adding that the government of Sindh has accepted the recommendations of the board.
It said that the minimum rates of wages shall apply to all unskilled adult and juvenile workers employed in all industrial and commercial establishment of any sort located in the Sindh province. The minimum rates of wages shall be applicable uniformly throughout the province.
