DJIA, S&P 500, Nasdaq closes higher on trade talk

NEW YORK: U.S. stocks up surged as a U.S. official endorsed that a trade talk between the US president Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping would be held at the G-20 meeting in Buenos Aires.

Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.79 percent ended the session up about 170 points, or 0.7 percent, the S&P 500 SPX, +0.82 percent closed up 0.8 percent and the Nasdaq Composite Index COMP, +0.79 percent ended up 0.8 percent.

In corporate info, shares of Marriott International MAR, -5.59 percent fell more than 5 percent after the company said it come across a data crack that exaggerated up to 500 million people.

In coming week, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will release the employment report for November. Economists polls are more likely an increase of 201,500 jobs and for the unemployment rate to remain steady at 3.7pc.
