Rupee weakens against dollar on import payment


KARACHI: The rupee ended down by 15 paisas against dollar on Thursday amid higher demand from import and corporate payments.




The rupee ended Rs138.75 to the dollar as compared with the last day closing of Rs138.60 in interbank foreign exchange market.
The rupee was also depressed in open market due to higher demand for foreign currency.
Malik Bostan, President, Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) said that buying and selling of dollar was at Rs139.00/Rs139.50 as compared with previous day’s close of Rs138.00/Rs138.50.
