KARACHI: The sales of locally manufactured cars has registered 19 percent growth to 17,529 units in July 2018 as compared with 14,676 units in the corresponding month last year.
According to data released by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) on Friday, the sales of 1300CC and above engine capacity cars have registered 21 percent growth to 9,659 units in July 2018 as compared with 7,983 units in the corresponding month of last year.
The sales of cars above 1,000 CC registered 16 percent growth to 4,433 as compared with 3,830 units. The sales of below 1000CC cars posted 20 percent to 3,437 units as compared with 2,863 units.
The assembly of 4X4 vehicles, however, sharply reduced by 22 percent to 3,815 units as compared with 4,900 units.
With this negative growth the overall car sales posted only 9 percent growth to 21,344 units in July 2018 as compared with 19,576 units in the corresponding month of the last year.
