PPL announces gas discovery in Sujawal district


KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) on Thursday announced discovery of natural gas at District Sujawal in Sindh Province.




A notice to Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday said the company which is the operator of Blok 2469-16, Shah Bandar Exploration License and has a working interest of 63 percent therein, together with its joint venture partners, Mari Petroleum Company Limited, Sindh Energy Holding Company Limited, and Government Holding Private Limited, who respectively have 32 percent, 2.5 percent, working interest in the block, has discovered gas from exploration well Benari X-I (ST-2) located in district Sujawal, Sindh.

It said that the drill stem testing in A-Sand unit of Uppar Sand, Lower Goru formation flowed 9.05 million cubic feet of gas per day at flowing well head pressure of 855 psi on 48/64” choke.
